urTalker™ Launches Communication App that Benefits Autism Awareness Month

Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 12, 2012

In support of Autism Awareness Month, urTalker, a leading developer of apps for iPad, iPhone and iTouch, announced the release and discount of their highly anticipated urTalker™ Lite app. The timing of this product launch displays a commitment by the founders to raise awareness about Autism and to provide affordable communication tools to individuals with special needs.

urTalker was developed to enable individuals who have speech and communication disabilities, an opportunity to have a voice. The urTalker application is designed with the individual, and their unique needs in mind. Every app is preloaded with default categories and images; it also provides the ability to create word categories and load additional images. Most importantly, it also allows the recording of audio for use with those images and words.

urTalker was developed by the founders to help their non-verbal autistic child, have a voice. Many non-verbal, autistic and special needs individuals have the ability to learn and use assistive technology, but the price for specific devices can be prohibitive. urTalker was developed to be affordable and easy to use.

In their effort to continue to create a buzz on behalf of the non-verbal community, the founders of urTalker are offering a discounted price of $15.99 during the month of April for Autism Awareness Month.

“Having a non-verbal son with severe Autism keeps this issue forefront for us. Autism Awareness Month helps to educate the general public so others can understand what our families and loved ones experience on a day-to-day basis” said urTalker Founder Jody Farris. “We are happy to support this month through our urTalker app and hope we can help other families and individuals with their unique needs.”
